Background

Born and raised in Hartford, Wisconsin, Timothy Algiers has dedicated his life and career to serving justice and advocating for his community. A 1978 Hartford Union High School graduate, Timothy continued his education at Marquette University, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a Minor in Spanish in 1982. His passion for the law led him to Marquette University Law School, where he graduated Cum Laude in 1985 and was inducted into the prestigious Alpha Sigma Nu Honor Society.

Upon completing his law degree, Timothy served his country as a Lieutenant Commander in the U.S. Navy’s Judge Advocate General’s (JAG) Corps from 1985 to 1990. During his tenure, he demonstrated exceptional legal acumen and a steadfast dedication to justice, earning the position of Special Assistant U.S. Attorney in San Francisco. In this role, he represented the Navy and skillfully defended Federal Tort Claims Actions, gaining invaluable experience that would shape his future legal practice.

In 1990, Timothy joined the O’Meara Law Firm, where he spent more than three decades building a distinguished career. His practice areas include personal injury, workers’ compensation, criminal and traffic defense, and serving as a prosecutor for the Village of Hustisford, Town of Neosho, Town of Rubicon, and Town of Ashippun. One of his most noteworthy court cases was securing a $3 million jury verdict for a disabled woman who was sexually abused.

In 2024, Timothy helped facilitate his firm’s merger, creating Dahlberg O’Meara Law Group, LLC, the oldest continually operating law firm in Washington County, established in 1870. Timothy’s commitment to his clients and his community is unwavering, and his legal practice is characterized by a deep understanding of the law, a strategic approach to each case, and a relentless pursuit of justice.

Timothy’s contributions to Hartford were recognized with a Mayoral Proclamation in March 2024, commemorating his 33 years of service. The proclamation honored him as a “true Hartford public servant,” a testament to his lifelong dedication to his hometown.

Along with his professional achievements, Timothy and his wife Susan raised three children in Hartford, further deepening his ties to the community.
